Chapter History
The Striking Sapphires of Psi Chapter was founded at Eastern Washington University on September 30th, 2011 by 4 founders, Katalina Chacon, Cecilia Cardenas, Alejandra Chavez, and Ana Zapien, and 3 charters, Maresa Fajardo, Casandra Wilkerson and Rubi Camacho. For 8 months these FIERCE sisters put time and dedication in order to establish Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority Inc. here at EWU. This was just the beginning of their journey as sisters. Like our founders their purpose was to be part of a sisterhood that had a lot to offer to underrepresented women, not only as undergraduates, but also with life after. With this in mind, bringing Gamma to EWU was the best decision they made.
Today, Gamma offers many opportunities of growth to undergraduate women. Each sister goes beyond their limits in order to uphold the pillars in which the Gamma was founded on. The bond that is shared between the sisters here at EWU is indescribable , each sister is unique in her own way bringing various qualities to the chapter. Our goal is to make Gamma stand out among other Greek organizations, by living by our values , putting work into the community, high scholarship achievements , and welcoming new members in with a similar mentality.
